As my husband and I drove down to Winfield for me to take these pictures I was in awe of how much the river had risen in such a short time (I have never lived where flooding was a concern and never really realized personally how much damage and danger a flood can be). I also prayed that this levee would be the answer to all those people in Winfield.

This picture could possibly appear like a lake in the middle of the park instead of grassy area. It’s so awesome how mother nature can be so destructive, yet so beautiful!!

As we were receiving calls from our family about the floods in our area I thought it would be a great idea to take these pictures and share them with our family. Of course when they received them and kept hearing about the flood on the news in Canada they even got a little more nervous, until we told them that we were 15 miles from the flooded area.
While taking these pictures (by the way I’m an armature at this picture taking as I just got my new Sony N50 camera from my husband as a gift) I was in awe on how mother nature can be so beautiful yet so dangerous. I also felt for those who lost everything in the flood.
We began our journey, June 15th, first on Highway 79 North to Clarksville

This was the bridge we crossed before we got to the sign indicating road closed (Thank havens the water didn’t get there or there may not be a bridge left)
